Hi Beauties! This weeks video features a fun way to contour and highlight your face using cream makeup. Did you say CREAM? What am I 102? Um, no. You’re dabbling in new makeup techniques! Cream makeup is great for MOST skin types. It hydrates while leaving a pretty sheen (depending on which brand you choose), and is ideal for dry to normal skin types . Don’t want the “sheen”? You can always set it with powder to avoid that “dewy” look. In this video, I happen to be using the Anastasia Cream Makeup Palette. Since we’re still in the beginning stages and learning how to do things, this is a pretty basic contour and highlight video, but still enough to feel accomplished. As the weeks progress, we will get more advanced. So let’s get to it.
In this video, I am using a generic makeup sponge, simply to show you that you don’t NEED fancy schmancy blending tools like a special blending sponge. While they certainly help {and I do ADORE them}, and make your life that much easier because that’s what those products are made to do, it’s not a necessity. Don’t think you can’t achieve this look if without it, because I’m here to show you YOU CAN! So yes, I look like a crazy lady, {straight up}, with all these difference colors on my face in different areas, but they all have purpose and in the end will be B-E-A-UTIFUL. Contouring, essentially, is slimming areas specific areas. For instance, I was born with a big ass Italian nose, and, at times, I like it to appear NOT so big. So I line the edges of my nose with a darker color to give the illusion of a shadow and it appear smaller. Basically, you put the darker colors where you’d like to look slimmer, IE cheek bones, outsides of your nose, parts of your jawline, etc. BOOM. Not to hard, right?
Now get your kit and out and start painting ya’ face!
Xo, D
