Let's Face It!

Why, hello again! Thanks for coming back for my THIRD makeup video! This weeks video features a quick and simple liquid foundation application. In this video I introduce you to strobing and minimal contouring. Strobing, if you’re unfamiliar with the term, is basically highlighting. Sounds a little more complicated, huh? That’s because us MUA’S like to scare the life out of you with fancy words so you don’t try it yourself, and leave it to the pros. Kidding #notreally But for real doe, it’s not as hard as it seems.

In this video I am using a mixture of brands, with an emphasis on MAC, because, well- it’s what I like! I start the video by taking a dime sized amount of MAC Pro Longwear Foundation {waterproof- ya know, ’cause I plan on going swimming with this look} and I apply to my face using the MAC 188 Duo Fibre Brush in a circular motion. Because of the nature of the brush and its duo fibre’s {Natural and Synthetic blend}, using this brush in a circular/swirling type motion helps to really buff the foundation into my skin leaving a silky smooth layer to be seen. From there I start the strobing process. I take the MAC 130 Short Duo Fibre brush and apply small amounts of MAC Pro Longwear concealer to the middle of my forehead, under my eyes, and the bridge of my nose, then I blend it all out. That’s it. Make sure you blend it all into your foundation though- you don’t want to walk around looking RACHET AF, because you “forgot to blend it in”. So from there, you’ll want to set it with a powder {any powder will do}. Then you’ll start to contour by taking your bronzer and outlining your face with it- while bringing it on your cheekbones. Repeat the process until you see a defined shade appear. After, take your blush brush and hit the top half of your cheek bones and really buff it in, then run your bronzer brush over it up and down to blend it. Lastly, take your highlighter and a fanbrush, and lightly dust the middle of your forehead, bridge of your nose and tops of cheekbones. Remember, makeup is all about layering and blending. You WON’T see results on your first pass; it takes a few times of buffing and blending to feel the full effect, so don’t get discouraged. So there’s your basic beginner steps, now get to it!! Don’t forget to tag me in your pics, beautiful 🙂

Xo, D
